Realme Buds Air 6 and Air 6 Pro arrive with 50dB ANC, LDAC support, and 40 hours of playback

Realme today silently launched its latest truly wireless earbuds (TWS), the Buds Air 6 and Buds Air 6 Pro, in China. Both models boast features increasingly common in the mid-range market, but the company hasn’t revealed their pricing just yet.

Looking at the base model, the Buds Air 6 packs a 12.4mm titanium-plated driver and a “bionic back cavity design” for improved mid and low-frequency response.

The Pro variant steps things up with a dual-driver setup, featuring an 11mm woofer paired with a 6mm micro-planar tweeter. Both models tout Hi-Res certification, and while the Buds Air 6 has LHDC 5.0 audio codec support, the Air 6 Pro gets LDAC high-definition streaming for supposedly high-fidelity audio.

The marquee feature for both earbuds is active noise cancellation (ANC). Realme claims its noise-cancelling system can drown out up to 50dB of noise around you.

The ANC is complemented by 4000Hz ultra-wideband noise reduction that filters out a wider range of noise frequencies. Realme also throws in “adaptive scene-based noise reduction” technology that automatically adjusts ANC based on your environment.

Call quality shouldn’t be an issue either, with both models sporting six microphones and AI noise reduction for clear voice transmission.

Battery life is rated at up to 40 hours with the charging case, and the earbuds themselves can last for 6.5 hours (Buds 6) or 7.5 hours (Buds 6 Pro) on a single charge with ANC on. The case supports fast charging, so you can get 7 hours of playback time with a 10-minute charge, as per Realme.

The Buds Air 6 and Air 6 Pro also bring 55ms low-latency support and are IP55-rated for protection against dust and water splashes.

Moreover, the Realme Buds Air 6 Pro has a feature called “3D spatial sound effects” exclusive to it. It leverages spatial audio algorithms to create a more immersive listening experience, simulating a surround sound field for movies, music, and games.
