Apple is working on a successor to the iPhone SE 3 that came out in 2022. The upcoming iPhone SE 4 is set to bring a new design, as shown by the new CAD leaks.
This will be the first major design overhaul in the series lineup. The last two SE models both used the chassis from the older iPhone 8. Even the original iPhone SE had a similar design as it used the enclosure of the iPhone 5s.
In contrast, the iPhone SE 4 will feature a more modern design. It will be the first entry in the series to feature a full-screen design. Apple is getting rid of the iconic Touch ID. It will be replaced by a Face ID, adding a bathtub notch at the tub.
The notch is said to be of the same size as the iPhone 14. The phone will continue to have a single camera cutout at the back.

It corroborates past leaks that suggested Apple might use a modified iPhone 14 chassis for its next affordable phone.
iPhone SE 4 will likely feature a 6.1-inch display, a significant shift from the 4.7-inch screen on the current model. It has also been reported that it would be an OLED panel from BOE. It will also feature a Type-C port like the latest iPhone 15 lineup.
Based on other rumors, the phone may also feature a programmable Action button and an in-house 5G modem.
However, all these are preliminary reports, and the phone is still in pre-production. We might hear more about the phone heading into its rumored launch next year.
