First alleged benchmark result of Nothing phone (2a) emerges online

Weeks before the official launch, the alleged benchmark score of the Nothing phone (2a) has now surfaced on the internet.

Reddit user u/DiddyDan90 posted what could be the first benchmark results of Nothing’s upcoming phone for the masses.

A screenshot of a WhatsApp message was posted on r/NothingTech, an unofficial subreddit for the fans to discuss the company and its product.

The picture is titled “Got my hands on the benchmark for Phone (2a)” and shows three phones side by side with Antutu scores on the screen.

The one on the left is supposed to be the upcoming phone 2a, with a score of 738,164.

It is the highest score of the bunch.

The Nothing phone (2a) is rumored to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7200.

Closing on the second is the Redmi Note 13 Pro+. It has a total score of 714,067.

Finally, there is the OnePlus Nord 3 CE, which has an overall score of 656,531.

Given that these results are genuine, Nothing has done an appreciable job optimizing the chipset.

The phone (2a) saw a 4°C rise in temperature and a 4% drop in the battery after the test, a better result than the Note 13 Pro+ that uses the same chip.

For reference, the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus starts at INR 32,000 in India. It will be a direct competition to the phone (2a), which is said to launch between INR 30,000 and INR 35,000 in India.

The OnePlus Nord CE 3, by Carl Pei’s former employer, seems a bit out of place in this comparison as it was launched last year and is currently available for INR 24,999.

This recent leak aligns with Pei’s claim that there is no real competition for the phone 2a in today’s smartphone market.

Update: Nothing phone (2a) has now been launched in India, UK and Europe. Nothing has also added Blue and a Special Variant adding to the black, white, and milk colour options.
