Samsung adds Knox Vault to its cheapest 2024 model

Samsung Nepal has announced the arrival of its latest budget smartphone, the Galaxy A06, in the country. The phone was first announced in Vietnam last month.

Unlike its predecessor, Galaxy A06 now comes with Samsung Knox Vault, bringing EAL-5+ certified protection against hardware attacks and user data. Samsung has also added a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for easy unlocks.

The phone runs on Android 14-based One UI 6 and is guaranteed two years of major Android updates and 4 years of security patches.

Pricing and availability

The phone starts at NPR 15,499 (~$115)for the base 4GB RAM and 64GB memory configuration. The 128GB storage is priced at NPR 17,499 (~ $130). Finally, the top-of-the-line 6GB RAM variant costs NPR 19,499 (~ $ 145) for the 128GB storage trim.

This makes the A06 the cheapest Samsung Galaxy phone in 2024.

There are three color options: Black, Light Blue, and Gold.

Samsung is also currently offering a free 25W charging adapter for each phone purchase. It will go on sale from September 8 in the country.

The phone can be purchased in instalments with 0% EMI via the Insta Finance service.

Technical Specifications

Talking about the specifications, the Galaxy A06 is built around a 6.7-inch HD+ PLS LCD screen with a U-shaped cutout for the 8MP selfie camera.

Under the hood, it packs the MediaTek Helio G85 chip, paired with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage. The phone supports up to 1TB of expandable storage via a MicroSD card.

Fueling the phone is a 5,000mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging.

The back of the phone houses a dual-camera setup, consisting of a 50MP primary shooter and a 2MP depth sensor.
