At the Unpacked 2025 event, Samsung introduced its latest flagship smartphone lineup, the Galaxy S25 series. The lineup, as usual, includes three models — the standard Galaxy S25, the enhanced Galaxy S25 Plus, and the premium Galaxy S25 Ultra.
The new devices have slightly rounder corners and concentric camera rings, but overall, their design remains largely unchanged. Instead of focusing on aesthetics, Samsung has prioritized hardware improvements and AI advancements in this generation.
All three models are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset, designed to handle resource-intensive AI tasks efficiently. This chipset upgrade is perhaps the most noticeable difference from their predecessors.
Galaxy S25 Ultra
The Galaxy S25 Ultra features a titanium frame and a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with a QHD+ resolution, 1–120Hz adaptive refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 2,600 nits. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Armor 2 glass.

Camera System
On the back, the Ultra model houses a quad-camera setup:
- 200MP Samsung Isocell HP2 main sensor
- 10MP Sony IMX754 telephoto lens (3x zoom)
- 50MP Sony IMX854 periscope telephoto lens (5x optical zoom)
- 50MP Samsung Isocell JN3 ultra-wide-angle sensor (previously 12MP)
While the first three sensors remain unchanged, the ultra-wide sensor has been upgraded to 50MP.
Performance & Battery
The Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset boasts:
- 40% faster NPU (Neural Processing Unit)
- 37% faster CPU
- 30% faster GPU compared to its predecessor
The 5,000mAh battery remains the same as the previous generation, supporting 45W fast charging. Samsung has also introduced Battery AI which promises an extra 5-10% of battery life.
Connectivity & Features
The Galaxy S25 Ultra supports USB-C, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, 5G, and NFC. Despite retaining IP68 water resistance, Samsung has removed Bluetooth support from the S Pen, meaning users can no longer use remote control features or air gestures.
The Ultra model is thinner (8.2mm) and lighter (218g) than the Galaxy S24 Ultra (8.6mm, 233g).
Galaxy S25 Plus
The Galaxy S25 Plus features a 6.7-inch display with identical specifications to the Ultra model. It is powered by the same Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and comes with 12GB of RAM in its base configuration.

Differences from the Ultra Model
- Aluminum frame instead of titanium
- Triple-camera setup instead of four lenses:
- 50MP main sensor
- 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens
- 10MP telephoto lens
- 4,900mAh battery with 45W fast charging
Galaxy S25
The standard Galaxy S25 is the most compact model, featuring a 6.2-inch FHD+ display. Despite its smaller size, it retains high-end features like a 2,600-nit peak brightness.

The camera system is identical to the Plus model:
- 50MP main sensor
- 10MP telephoto lens
- 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens
- 12MP front camera
The biggest difference is the smaller 4,000mAh battery, which supports 25W fast charging, making it less powerful in terms of battery life compared to the other two models.
New Galaxy AI Features
Samsung has integrated Google’s Gemini AI into the Galaxy S25 series to enhance everyday usability with AI-powered assistance.
For instance, the AI can analyze traffic conditions to suggest the best time to leave for work, notify users of expiring coupons, and more. These AI agents transform smartphones into proactive companions.
The Circle to Search feature now recognizes phone numbers and email addresses for quick actions, and users can search for specific photos within the Gallery.
Another significant addition is the Now Brief function, which provides a personalized summary of the day along with tailored recommendations. It curates stock market news, weather forecasts, event updates based on interests, travel information, and more, depending on user preferences.
In Samsung Health, AI can analyze sleep patterns and activity data to create customized recommendations for improved well-being and optimized workouts.
Gemini also enables transcription and summarization of calls, note summaries, and text editing. The AI can be activated by holding down the power button.
