Xiaomi-owned Redmi is expanding its lineup with the launch of the Redmi Turbo 3, the first device in its new performance-focused Turbo series. Positioned between the popular Redmi K and Note lines, the Turbo 3 packs some serious flagship-killer features, including Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor.

The front has a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a 2,712 x 1,220-pixel resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. It gets even better with HDR10+, 12-bit color depth, and a whopping 2,400 nits of peak brightness — that’s plenty for outdoor use.

The front-facing 20MP selfie camera resides in a punch-hole cutout, while there’s an optical under-display fingerprint sensor for convenient unlocking.

At the back, the Redmi Turbo 3 offers a dual camera setup headlined by a 50MP main sensor with OIS (optical image stabilization) and an 8MP ultrawide lens.

Additionally, the phone comes with more than enough 12GB/16GB LPDDR5X RAM and speedy UFS 4.0 storage in 256GB, 512GB, or even 1TB capacities. The software side of things is handled by Android 14-based Xiaomi HyperOS skin while keeping the lights on is a 5,000 mAh battery with 90W fast charging support.

Redmi Turbo 3 Harry Potter Edition

The Redmi Turbo 3 is launched in China in colors like black, green, and titanium. There’s even a limited Harry Potter edition which is allegedly inspired by the “Seven Horcruxes” of the wizarding world. Pricing starts at a very reasonable CNY 1,999 ($276) and scales according to storage and memory configurations.

The smartphone’s open sales in China will begin on April 15th. There are rumors that the Redmi Turbo 3 may rebrand as the Poco F6 for markets outside China.

Considering its specifications, the Redmi Turbo 3 offers an incredible value-packed proposition. While a global launch is unconfirmed, if the rumored Poco F6 rebrand proves true, the phone could give some serious competition in the mid-range segment with its blend of performance and features.
