Pokémon Legends Z-A Gameplay: What we know so far

A City Map of Lumiose Ciity - The Official Setting for Pokémon Legends Z-A Game

Coming to the game, it will take place entirely in Lumiose City. The city is based on Paris and is part of the wider Kalos region (based on France).

The Kalos region consists of a total of 16 cities. It was the setting for Pokémon X and Y games released in 2013.

These games introduced Zygarde, which we believe is what the Z in Z-A is for. Thus, we expect to see more of the legendary Pokémon in the upcoming game.

In addition, the game will also continue the open-world experience and new in-game mechanics introduced in the last Legends game.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus came out in 2022 and ended with Violet and Scarlet. The game took us to the ancient Hisui region that would later turn into Sinnoh.

However, Z-A is looking to be heading in the complete opposite direction. The trailer so far reveals a far-advanced city.

The official description also mentions some kind of renovation going on in Lumiose City.

A new adventure awaits within Lumiose City, where an urban redevelopment plan is under way to shape the city into a place that belongs to both people and Pokémon.

The trailer also teases Mega Evolutions, which looks to return after a decade.
